Ingredients for 1 Pie Cream Filling: 1 and 1/2 times for 2 Pies
5 T Cornstarch
1 Cup Sugar (almost)
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 1/2 Cups Milk
3/4 Cup Half&Half
1 Cup Cream
3 Egg Yolks
2 T Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
Coconut Cream Pie: Add 1/2 cup coconut to filling.
Banana Cream Pie: Slice 2 bananas into pie shell . Pour the filling over the bananas.
Chocolate Cream Pie: Add 3/4 Cup Chocolate syrup to filling.
Directions:
Mix cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Add milk and creams and cook over medium heat until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Pour small amount of hot mixture into the egg yolks; Blend thoroughly, then pour back into pan. Cook another 2 or 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell.
