Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
1 Tablespoon oil
2 Tsp cream of tartar
food coloring
Directions:
Mix over medium heat until mixture pulls away from side of pan and forms a ball. Remove from pan and knead a few times.
Store in airtight container.

This recipe came from Linda Messmer. She and I served together in the
nursery in the Dana Ranch Ward in Mesa, Arizona. We used this recipe,
in various colors, as a gathering activity for the children age 18
months to 3 years. We varied the activities by sculpting the dough into
various shapes or using small rolling pins and cookie cutters.
