- 1/2 c. butter (1 stick) set at room temperature for 10 mins- should be still cool
- 8 oz cream cheese (directly from fridge)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 c. powered confectioners sugar
- 1-4 Tbsp cream or milk (if needed)
Directions:
Place butter in a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Add cream cheese and blend until fully combined and smooth, about 30 seconds. Add vanilla extract and powered sugar and blend on low speed until combined. Increase to medium speed and beat until it begins to get fluffy.
If you want the frosting thinner, add desired milk and beat until fluffy, about a minute.

This is an awesome frosting to use for piping cupcakes. I never use the additional milk because I like the frosting firm, but the original recipe calls for it.
